JASHIE’s mission is to transform the relationship between Australia and Japan in the fields of sport and health innovation.
JASHIE aims to connect, grow, and sustain an innovation ecosystem between both countries, thereby accelerating technology development, fostering partnerships, and driving significant economic and social impact.
Our Vision is to establish Australia and Japan as global leaders in sports and health innovation. This goal extends beyond winning medals, focusing equally on pioneering technology development and on international collaboration.
Program Objectives
JASHIE achieves its vision through three core objectives:
1. CONNECT THE ECOSYSTEM IN JAPAN AND AUSTRALIA
Conduct annual business delegations and events that link key ecosystem participants across both nations, including startups, investors, researchers, and sport governing bodies.
Facilitate targeted introductions to foster collaboration between startups and the broader ecosystem.
Cultivate an ecosystem that facilitates the exchange of knowledge, customers, and technology through collaboration among program participants (entrepreneurs, mentors, advisors, and investors).
Build an online community platform of program participants to enable ongoing collaboration.
2. GROW SPORTS AND HEALTH TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION
Work with Australian and Japanese major event rightsholders and sport governing bodies to accelerate market-ready products via pilot programs.
Enable co-creation, testing, and validation of new technologies.
Build reputations and accelerate the commercialisation of products co-created by Japanese and Australian startups.
3. SUSTAIN THE IMPACT
Create solutions that advance both elite and community sport in both countries.
Build pathways for startups to access funding, expertise, and international markets.
Extend high-performance products into community sport and the mass participation market.
