Skipping Australia joins JASHIE as Sporting Partner to Pilot Innovation

sports, innovation, technology, health

JA Network is pleased to announce that Skipping Australia has joined the Japan–Australia Sports & Health Innovation Exchange (JASHIE) as a sporting partner for the 2026 program. Skipping Australia — the national governing body for jump rope — will collaborate with Japanese and Australian startups, researchers and industry partners to pilot and validate new sport- and health-focused technologies in real athlete and event environments.

Jump rope is a data-rich, biomechanically complex sport that combines endurance, speed, coordination and agility, making it an ideal live testbed for innovations in performance analytics, wearables, movement analysis, injury prevention and participation technologies. Skipping Australia brings direct athlete access, elite demonstrations and media-friendly activations that can accelerate product validation and research translation.

Through this partnership, JASHIE participants will be able to:

  • Conduct live performance testing and product trials with elite athletes and clubs;

  • Collaborate on applied research projects with Australian universities and research partners;

  • Pilot solutions for footwear, wearable sensors, AI-driven feedback, and health & participation tools;

  • Leverage storytelling and media opportunities to showcase outcomes to broader audiences.

The collaboration is aligned with JASHIE’s objectives to strengthen bilateral innovation links between Japan and Queensland and to support Games-era legacy through applied research, commercialisation and international partnerships. Interested startups, researchers and industry partners who wish to explore pilot opportunities with Skipping Australia should contact JA Network for matchmaking and next steps.
