Building new opportunities for Australia–Japan collaboration in sport, health and innovation

JASHIE

JA Network is pleased to recognise the support of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) for the 2026 Japan–Australia Sports & Health Innovation Exchange (JASHIE), helping connect Australian innovators with Japanese businesses, research organisations and industry stakeholders.

JETRO is a Japanese government-related organisation that promotes trade and investment and supports international business development. Through its extensive domestic and international networks, JETRO helps companies explore new markets, establish commercial relationships and develop cross-border partnerships.

JASHIE brings together Australian and Japanese organisations to explore opportunities across sports technology, health innovation, active lifestyles, human performance and the business of sport. As Australia and Japan look towards Brisbane 2032 and the longer-term Elevate 2042 vision, the program aims to build lasting connections between the two countries’ innovation ecosystems.

In November 2026, JETRO is supporting JASHIE’s business matching activities across three locations in Japan: Tokyo, Osaka and Awaji Island. These events will provide opportunities for Australian delegates to showcase their capabilities, meet prospective Japanese partners and explore opportunities for commercial collaboration, research partnerships and technology development.

The program includes innovation showcase and business matching activities in Tokyo and Osaka, alongside opportunities to connect with stakeholders in Awaji Island’s growing health, wellbeing and innovation ecosystem.

JETRO’s support strengthens JASHIE’s focus on moving beyond introductions to help create meaningful business relationships and potential long-term partnerships between Australian and Japanese organisations.

JA Network looks forward to working with JETRO and its wider network to create new opportunities for bilateral collaboration and contribute to a more connected Australia–Japan sports and health innovation ecosystem.
